The body of Christ is made up of God’s people of all generations. We seek to be in ministry with people in all ages and stages of life, while also valuing the many ways we can all learn and grow in our faith together across generations. Click the links above to read about a specific group.


Faith Formation Hour on Sunday mornings at 9:45am*

Children in Preschool-5th grade are invited to share in the Growing in Grace and Gratitude lesson time with a dedicated leader and various assistants. Hands on and interactive activities!

*Due to COVID-19, Children’s Faith Formation is not currently being held. Weekly lessons are being mailed, emailed, and occasionally provided through curbside pick-up.

LOGOS Ministry

LOGOS is an after school program for grades K-12. From 4:30-7:30 on Wednesdays (September-March) Opequon comes together building relationships with Jesus and one another through recreation, worship, bible time, and meal time.

Annual Vacation Bible School Week

Due to COVID-19, VBS in a box “Fruits of the Spirit” was delivered to 44 homes on June 14, 2020!

       On June 21-23, 2021 there will be an outdoor VBS experience, “God’s Big         Backyard!”

G.I.F.T Events! 

GIFT stands for Generations in Faith Together.  This is an intentional time when all ages come together during the Sunday morning educational hour (9:45M)* for a worthwhile time of praying, playing, eating, listening, pondering, and blessing each other. GIFT events are held the 4th Sunday of each month.  All are welcome!

*Due to COVID-19, GIFT Events are held through Zoom on the fourth Sunday of the month. Adult Faith Formation is via Zoom every Sunday at 9:45am. Confirmation meets every Sunday in the Fellowship Hall, at a distance.

Presbyterian Youth Connection (PYC)

Weekly PYC

We typically meet twice a month on Sunday afternoons from 12:30pm – 2:30pm.* A meal is provided by parents and/or volunteers. We explore and experience God’s love through faith, fun, and fellowship.  Relationship building is key and we invite our young people to live out their faith in action.

*Due to COVID-19, we are currently meeting once to twice a month on a modified schedule.

Senior Ministry-We Choose Love

We show our neighbors that we care about them by taking paper products, hygiene items, and non-perishable foods to seniors living in low-income housing. This occurs on the SECOND Sunday of each month from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. All are welcome to join as we spread hospitality to those in our community neighborhoods.

Monthly Events

We seek to connect our Young Adults between the ages of 18-35 by helping them grow in their faith through various opportunities for fellowship and service.

We welcome all Young Adults in their various stages of life including young professionals, newlyweds, young parents, college-age students, and graduate students as we gather for monthly events.

Older Adults

“Happy Days” – Monthly Gathering

An Older Adult group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at noon for a covered dish lunch and programs of interest and entertainment.  (Not currently meeting due to COVID-19)


Trips are sponsored for older adults throughout the year to local places of interest and other attractions, shows, museums, etc.

The Older Adult leadership team meets the first Monday each month for planning and discussion.

Hands and Hearts

A crafting and praying small group, we are dedicated to learning about and experiencing prayer of all kinds, as well as exploring the connection between the work of our hands and the prayers of our hearts, as we create visible reminds of God’s love and care for people in our congregation.

MOO – Men of Opequon

A fellowship and service-focused group that seeks to build up one another, the church, and the community.  MOO meets monthly on the second Monday of each month for dinner at Chick-fil-A at 6:00 p.m. and at the church at 7:00 pm.

Read ’em & Reap

This small group meets to read a book and discuss the spiritual content and impact. They meet the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm at the home of the Tandy’s.  Contact Joelle Cafaro or 540.868.3170 for a list of upcoming books.

Tuesday Morning Mission

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month to make a meal and deliver it to those in our congregation and community who would benefit from a home-cooked meal. Contact Tom Tandy 540-535-1655 or

GLOW – GOD-Loving Opequon Women


This is Opequon’s Women Group that meets the second Tuesday each month at 6pm in the Bageant Room at church.  All aged women come together for Devotions, Prayer, Interactive activities and conversation, Projects, and enduring Friendship as we glorify God.
