McNichols Family

Opequon Presbyterian Church is both our place of worship and our church home. From the first day we walked in the door in 1993 until the present we have known that we belong here. It is a place where we are free to share our joys and sorrows including our recent 50th Anniversary Vow Renewal with friends and relatives and the Memorial Ceremony for Mac’s mother, June, a member for ten years who passed away at age 94. All Opequon helped share with us in these blessed events.

Opequon is the center of our life with all that we do and the good friends we have made here. Being members for over twenty years, we have watched babies being baptized, taught them in Sunday School, gone on Mission Trips with them, and seen them mature into exceptional young adults. This has been a special joy. From the youngest to the oldest, there is a feeling of intergenerational love that permeates the building and the people with whom we share Sunday worship and weekday activities. We have commuted from Middleburg, Virginia, 35 miles away, sometimes 3-4 times per week because it is worth the trip to share in the many missions, activities, services, as well as joys and sorrows with our fellow members.

Opequon is truly a place where we can and have used our hands, hearts, and minds in “Growing and Sharing the Light of Christ With Our Community and World.”
